We were approached by a local company, Fresh Logistics Services Ltd to help with a project with a difference, they were packing, freezing down and transporting three Conger eels over to Tokyo, where a Japanese-based production company called Hanagumi, would eventually use the eels in a programme where they will be eaten on TV.
We were advised the size and weight of the eels and then designed a bespoke case consisting of two loose shelves. The case itself was lined with an aluminium foil bag to prevent any leakage and polystyrene to keep the eels cool in transit.
The case was designed, produced and delivered in time for Fresh Logistics to pack and transport to Heathrow airport, where the case was then put on an overnight flight, to Tokyo.
